Tracy Saboe for State Senate
As some of you know, a few weeks ago, Drake Olsen, the Minnehaha CountyGOP Chair in South Dakota. Called me and wanted to know if I'd bewilling to run for State Senate. Some of you asked me to set up a Chip-In to help me raise money for this endeavor, so here it is :)
For those of you who don't know, the County Republican Party was very impressed with our grass roots efforts to campaign for Ron Paul's nomination here in Sioux Falls, and they wanted to tap into that energy, because they knew we were not going to get behind McCain. Apparently my district (District 15)is a heavily Democratic District and nobody even wanted to try.
However,I'm not your typical Republican, I should be able to reach beyond thatartificial divide. And there are a whole lot of libertarian issues thatappeal to Democrats that Republicans should care about, but theRepublican establishment doesn't.
I want to be the Mr No inthe State Senate. I want to be the guy to pushes bills to cut taxeswherever I can, and DO it by cutting spending.
I've got a lot of people willing to help me canvass, that we built up over the last year with our local Ron Paul Organization so we'll be able to reach every house. It's only 8 precincts. Plus I have members of the local Libertarian Party and volunteers with the county Republican Party willing to help out.
This is a Catholic District, where most of the Democrats are Pro-life. TheParty is supplying 100 signs for me. However, for most Statelegislative races, I've been told 250 is a typical number needed.They're about $3 each.
The party is also printing up about 4000 initial palm pieces for me, but I need about 5000.
We also want to send out about 3 mailings towards the end of October. They're going to run about $1,000 each.
So, I'm in need of some money for basic expenses.
150*$3= $450 for signs and $3,000 for mailings for a total of about $3,450.
Obviously more is better.
Please help if you can with whatever you can afford. No amount is too small.
